The main inspiration for our idea was the project called Queering the map. Here are some other examples for data design projects that mainly use maps and color to build their narrative.
we decided to go for a 3D map and represent emotions through colors. In this way we want to create a work of art that interacts with how people experience there environment on a daily basis. This will visualize the effect that the Covid-19 restrictions have on people their daily lives and we expect that the changes in corona policy will be visible through the system that we want to create for this.
the color of the emotion is added on the map and certain areas become more pleasant than others. We have done research into different studies on color psychology to see how people are effected by emotions. These colors will be used to differentiate Positive and negative emotions to see how the this balances out across the city of Rotterdam.
